USAG WYOMING
Compulsory Season Begins

1 September 2006

Hello to all members in Wyoming.  You are probably already aware but the summer was a flurry of changes within the state.  The state meet discussion was settled with a survey being sent out to all registered Professional members of the women's program.  The final decision was for the state meets to remain as they have been, with the compulsory state meet being held in December, and the Optional state meet being held separately in March.

Compulsory State Meet

The Compulsory state meet will be held on December 16.  Bids are now open for holding this meet.  If you wish to bid for holding Compulsory state meet, your bid needs to be in to Rob by Sept 30.  You can send your bid to:

Rob Mitchell

803 Skyline Rd

Laramie, Wy  82070

TOPs testing was held on July 22nd in Gillette at NEW gymnastics.  There have been a lot of changes involved with the TOPs program over the past couple of years.  If you are not familiar with this program or want some more information you can go to                      http://www.usa-gymnastics.org/women/tops/tops.html

Wyoming Invite

The Wyoming Invite was put out on a bid at the time of the state meeting this summer.  The bid was awarded to Evanston and will be held on November 11 - 12.  Information will be compiled and sent out as soon as possible.

Just a quick reminder that you need to keep up with all the changes going on in the J.O. program.  Here are a few of them that will affect everyone.

-Fall time on bars for both compulsory and optional gymnasts has been increased to 45 sec.

-Level 4 vault is allowed to have a unfolded panel mat placed on top of the vaulting system.

-add a ½ (180°) pivot turn following the Scale in the Level 5 beam routine.

This is just a few of the changes, make sure to visit the USAG website for all changes that will be affecting this season.

**It is also time to request a hard copy of the Rules and Policies from USAG.  If you would like one you need to go to this web site and click on the request online link at the top of the page.  You can only request on per pro number.

Please be patient as this season gets under way.  There have been a lot of changes that have taken place and people need some time to adjust to the new taskings.

GOOD LUCK to all gymnasts with the upcoming 2006-07 seasons.

Remember both level 8 and level 9 regional championships are being hosted in Texas.
